Today’s educated child needs to be able to speak well, enjoy self-confidence, and relate to peers, parents and authority figures. They also need self-discipline, goals and to be consumed with lofty achievements! Thanks to the love and support of Bishop Eddie L. Long and a program like Urban Education & Family Initiative, hopes and dreams are alive within several children who once struggled through various trials and challenges that could have stolen their dreams indefinitely at the beginning of their adolescent lives.

Urban Education & Family Initiative was founded in 1998. Bishop Eddie L. Long partners with a team of excellent educators, social workers, volunteers, ministers, and other professionals to focus on under-privileged children who are in need of academic assistance. The overall goal of the ministry is to provide scholarships, tutoring and counseling to the children and their parents/guardians.

We salute Bishop Eddie L. Long and the team at Urban Education & Family Initiative for their patience and persistence to empower families through serving their children.
